Gospel Partnership at PBC

 

​At PBC our formal membership is called 'Gospel Partnership'.

​

Those who are committed to our church's vision to grow disciples of Jesus have the opportunity to join our Partnership group, in demonstrating their love for Jesus lived out in community with others.

​

We make a covenant with each other, which outlines our promises to serve Jesus in our church.

​

Whilst 'membership' is a wholly biblical word, with the idea of being 'members' of the body of Christ (Romans 12:4-5), many people today use the idea of membership in a consumerist way ("my reward card" or "my gym membership") rather than in a committed sense.

​

Therefore, we use the word 'partnership', as it evokes images of being active in a relationship or work. Paul spoke warmly about the "partnership in the gospel" he shared with the Christians in Philippi (Philippians 1:5), because they devoted their lives to Jesus in life and service.

​

Those who are gospel partners at PBC seek to use their Time, their Talents, and their Treasure for Jesus, recognising that all we have is from him. Have a look at the short videos on this page to hear more about what this might look like,
