Our Father
Growing our relationship with God as His children
What is your view of God? Up in the sky, distant, and not interested in your life? A harsh dictator, who is waiting for you to slip up so he can punish you? What about a loving Father, who made you, knows you completely, and wants you to draw close to Him?
God describes Himself as the Father of the nation of Israel in the Old Testament, but in the New Testament, He becomes a personal Father to all those who turn to Jesus. God is not only our Almighty Creator, but He is our loving Saviour, through Jesus Christ. And so, all who find forgiveness of sins through Jesus and the cross, become children of God, and He as our Heavenly Father, who loves us beyond measure!
In this series, we will be exploring what it really means for God to be our Father, and for us to be His children, that we may enjoy an eternal relationship with Him as part of His family.
There may well be much to learn about God through this series, but also much for our Father to heal in our lives, as He deals with hurts from our earthly experiences of fathers, and transforms our hearts through the power of His Spirit in us.
